Lower Your Eyelids to Die With the Sun || Imogeli
Imogen's head was spinning. She didn't know whether she felt like crying, screaming or throwing up. It wasn't a knew concept to her, Eli overreacting when he was upset, but she never thought he would go this far. At his worst, Imogen still saw him as harmless. Even with her mind screaming a thousand things at once, she knew she didn't have time to take this all in. If something had to be done, it had to be done quickly. It took all that she had to make herself get up and leave her house, to fight off the nausea and get in her car. Eli's words stuck to her like a second skin as she questioned to herself what he'd done. She knew it didn't really matter though. Accident or not, she would do whatever she could to help him, they could sort out the technicalities later. Still, she had to admit, thinking about an Eli so mad that he could kill...it sent a series of unwanted shivers up her spine. When she got to his house, she almost couldn't get out of the car, afraid to go any further into this. If she was thinking rationally, she'd call the police. If it really was an accident, everything would work itself out without her having to get involved. Her first priority should be on the girl dead at Eli's hands, but no. Sadly, all rationality flew out the window when it came to Eli Goldsworthy. She was more loyal to him than she should be and that was more of a problem now than ever. Forcing out a shaky breath, Imogen got out of the car and walked toward the front door. She grabbed the handle and opened the door, not daring to step past the doorway. "Eli?" she rasped, clearing her throat as she slowly trudged into the house, shutting the door behind her.
