Two Great Pieces of News
Goods news everyone! I thought I'd share two pieces of news that have contributed significantly to my day, and will hopefully expand my literary and musical horizons going forward. They are:
The musical genius Tara Parashar, my good friend from London, has become a contributor for the online magazine Lyfstyl. Her post announcing it is here, along with some bubbly party music to keep you bobbing your head through these summer days. I highly recommend you follow her and Lyfstyl if you want to expose yourself to music that, when played at parties, will make people say, "who's library is playing right now? yours? Holy shit it's awesome!"
There is a new website just released called Placing Literature, which allows you to see literary landmarks and areas that your favorite authors write about in the location around you. There doesn't appear to be an app available yet, but if this idea catches on I can't imagine them not releasing one. I'm also pleased to see that one of the sites founders is close to my neck of the woods - Milwaukee, to be exact - and has made a trip to Duluth, MN to map some of the literary scenes there. Check it out and help the brother and sister duo that founded the site make it a success. If you're like me, the effort you put in will more than compensate for that elation when you go travelling next or even explore your own city, and find that you're walking in the same place that once inspired a creative and observant soul.
I hope these two bits of news have brightened your day as they have mine. Happy exploring!
