Thinking of Lynnborg again…

The way Kyborg went from “guys! This creepy dragon is freaking me out” to “Behold lesser creatures my gorgeous wife!”

The fact Kyborg went back to her once the world was safe to peruse a relationship with her, the fact that she agreed to give it a try.

Them both having fun with the fact she can shape-shift, Kyborg finally being able to fly with the rest of the party on Lynns back. (Bart and Gumgum have wings and Mudd can shape-shift)

The character development potential, Kyborg learning to love her regardless of the form she takes, Lynn learning to open up and appreciate Kyborg for more than just what he can offer her.

The fact that Kyborg and Lynn would definitely be very awkward before they got to know each other better, Kyborg having no prior relationship experience and barely any social skills and Lynn probably needing to learn to understand others more.

The potential parallels you could have with these two, If moonstone dragon lore in tftsd is similar to how it is in official d&d then their is a good chance Lynn is also a massacre survivor like Kyborg, fleeing to the feywild to escape from terror and being transformed by the magic of the feywild into a moonstone dragon. Forever changed now content or at least apathetic to spend the rest of her life in solitude before an unsuspecting elf decided sleeping on a pile of clearly enchanted items was a good idea.

Kyborg escaping from a massacre spending his life driven by a desire for justice, meanwhile, Lynn escaping from a massacre and deciding to reside where she is now with no desire to seek vengeance either out of fear, apathy or just feeling like she didn’t have anything worth avenging. Spending her days in solitude that is only interrupted when a mortal wants something from her or is she takes a brief interest In what they could offer her.

Through a series of tragic events and deals with mortals she eventually meets someone with similar traumas to her, but who dealt with them in very different ways. But now she finally has someone to relate to, someone to open up with and something worth fighting for.

Moonstone dragons have the ability to travel through and control dreams, if you want to play around with the idea of Kyborg suffering night terrors due to his extreme amount of trauma.

Moonstone dragons also have the ability to create portals to and from the material plain, she could definitely be a big help around the lab considering how portals to travel throughout the land were a huge part of the lab.

The moment from the infinights 3 shot, how Kyborg reacts to seeing the arrow message. Out on a run with his wife before the arrow flys past, him immediately jumping in front of his wife Lynn and promising to protect her before checking for signs of threats.

Just the idea of Lynn and Kyborg being domestic and bonding over exercise is sweet by itself, but the idea Kyborg wants to play this role of knight in shining armour protecting his other half from danger is just too much.

Made all the more better when you remember Lynn is A DRAGON! AN ADULT DRAGON!! AN ADULT MOONSTONE DRAGON FROM ANOTHER DIMENTION!!! The fact that Kyborg thinks he’s protecting her from anything when realistically an arrow would be at worst a discomfort is adorable.

Kyborg and Lynn getting married (that could be its own rant honestly, I have many thoughts on that) and Kyborg finally getting a last name.

Alright, I like the Kydron AU and this fandoms general interpretation of it, but just for fun I’d like to add one thing that I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention before in this AU.

Lynn Murr the moonstone dragon, I like her and after giving it a lot of thought I think I found away she could fit into this AU.

Essentially the party still continues their quest to find the Dia gems and stop the bad guys and eventually run into Lynn Murr similarly to how they do in the cannon timeline, however unlike in cannon when they meet Lynn the party learn about a very unique power Moonstone dragons have, the ability to visit people in their dreams.

The party then makes a deal with Lynn that she will use her powers to visit Kyborg in his dreams, either bringing the party with her in a shared dream or just her going to him on her own and try to help him escape the confines of his mind and fight against the programming of his new body.

This goes one of three ways,

This works and while not a permanent solution definitely a step in the right direction the party is keeping touch with their friend and doing what they can to reach him internally and externally. The party keeping him company every night assuring him that things will be ok and that everyone is fighting to save them and they will get justice for all that has happened,

Or

Lynn being a messenger telling Kyborg things on his friends behalf, maybe even her acting as a guide helping him navigate his subconscious, his dreams and memory’s all in an attempt to reclaim who he is and fight against the hold Quaddron has over him because Lynn would know how to travers these realms better then he could. Perhaps even after a few visits Kyborg and Lynn share dreams together more and Lynn opens up more about herself (fun fact in D&D lore moonstone dragons were first created when a dragon fled to the feywild to save themselves and or their eggs from a massacre, I’m probably remembering that wrong but it’s a fun idea) and they grow closer as she helps Kyborg rediscover who he is or how he can regain control over his mind and body.

Or

Lynn returns to the party after her first attempt and has to rely the unfortunate news, she cannot access Kydrons dreams because he isn’t a living entity, Kyborg is dead and Kydron really is just a robot. It’s horrible and not what the party wanted to hear but it’s what they needed to hear, now they finally have closure they know now Kydron isn’t the friend they once loved but an abomination crafted in the image of their friend. Knowing they can’t save their friend because their is nothing in there left for them to save is heartbreaking, but now they know what they have to do and they can fight without holding back, knowing what they are doing is justice and they won’t be killing their friend but killing the weapon created by his murderer.
