Never had Astarion fail the arcana check at the guest room door before so this line is new. XD
This scene mostly goes the same as if you're with him.
In my attempt to speedrun I also forgot to grab the dictionary so got a new line here.
And another one after I initially forgot to READ the book before trying the door.
Anyway slammed through the fight with the werewolves and shit (and Vilhelm because he will NOT stay the fuck out of the fight apparently)
New line as he approaches the cages.
Slightly different line and delivery to the one he gave when I had my Tav with him.
And of course, as with Tav he doesn't have to roll to remember the name (you do have to roll for it in his origin run):
Again, I am making NO choices in this section, Astarion is doing this all on his own.
This is the only line in this portion I don't remember him saying when Tav is with him.
These are the same but I love watching him cuss out Cazador so took screenshots anyway.
Never had Karlach be the one to pass this check and get the line before. She calls him Cazzy. XD
Anyway one ridiculous fight later in which Gale died, Karlach almost died, and my Tav got knocked out of wildshape twice because we were SO fucking underleveled (and also forgot to run and get Astarion out as our first move whoopsies)... pulled the party back out of range to let Astarion take over his scene again.
HE DECIDES ON HIS OWN NOT TO GO THROUGH WITH THE RITUAL. Again, I made NO CHOICES AT ALL in this section, there were no pauses to let me make a choice, this is all Astarion driving the scene all by himself.
But what about after? What does he decide to do with all the spawn?
He set them free. Again, on his own. No input from me as the player.
Dalyria's little smile here as he says this. Like, it's tempting to hate her because of what she did to Leon's kid but from the first meeting with her we see a lot of desperation, and I think that's driving her a lot of the time. I know we never see them after this but I sort of have a personal headcanon that she regrets that. Next time I come back around to this scene (since I'm in act 3 again my Durge will get here eventually) I wanna see if I can bounce to another character and chat with all the spawn outside the cutscene conversation. I know there's at least one early patch where you could do that as I've seen video I think? But not sure if you still can.
ANYWAY that's all the ones I could think of that I had good saves for. You can find video of the Raphael scene as it plays out with him alone so I didn't go back to collect that one yet. I kinda want to though... both the one by the mausoleum and to see if he has anything new to say in Last Light when he's on his own. But that's for another day.
