i love lyu. i love her so much. she's so fucking pretty. look at those wings. that outfit. those eyes. that weapon. she's rad as hell.

sorry, i got ahead of myself! meet lyubov balkier, created by @pap1taa-toto. thank you, darling, for letting me draw her — and thank you for your patience as i've struggled to get back to the doodle queue.

she's got snowy owl charactersitics (i really wanted to show off her wings in this drawing but i'll admit i'm not super-skilled at illustrating them, so i might come back and redo them at a later date) and can control the weather and communicate with animals. and again. the weapon. like, can we just appreciate how fucking cool she is?

this grade-a bad-ass was kidnapped from what sounds like a very lovely and loving home-planet when she was only eight years old. her kidnappers attempted to sell her on the black market, but she somehow managed to escape and apparently survived on her own for some time. it sounds like despite a rocky start to her relationship with the Yondu Clan, they ended up adopting her (or, well, whatever it is that a Ravager clan does when they take in an actual, literal child). and now, post-volume-two, she's kickin' it with the guardians and with @thirteens-lucky-tardis's oc, ember!

✒️ do you have a headcanon that you love, but directly contradicts canon?

North Italy being a real asshole.

Oh my God, every time I talk about how I HC my favorite characters I seem to hate them! xD No, the truth is I love North Italy with all my heart.

For me, North Italy is yess all smiles and sweet words, but deep down he is also a huge dick. He's the perfect man handler. If he does something wrong or looks like he's completely out of it, it's not because he's stupid or anything like that, it's because it suits him to do things that way. He can't tie his shoelaces? Oh no, he can. He just prefers to have Germany do it for him (there's something very… alluring about having Germany at your feet, anyway). Did he forget to do something? No, he remembered perfectly, only… he wants someone else to do it for him because he's too lazy to. Even the fact that he says he likes pasta so much (when he loves a thousand other things) seems almost like a game, a way of playing with stereotypes, rather than the whole and complete truth. In my opinion, Germany knows this very well and that's why he knows how to deal with North Italy better than others. The only reason other people think he's being too strict with the Italian is because they don't know that north Italy is playing with him and Germany isn't having it that day. They love each other also because they understand each other best.

Also, and this also seems to go against canon, I am convinced that he loves South Italy to bits despite saying the contrary. Only.... it sometimes doesn't benefit him to do things for his sake.

As you can see, I love layered characters, and North Italy is one of them in my opinion. It directly contradicts canon but I like him better that way.
