A familiar anticipation built in his gut. It always felt that way before a romp and stomp. Coincidentally, it felt that way whenever he knew he was going to be spending time with her.
His gut was awfully emotive.
And this time they were going to take down evil together. There was a tiny camera clipped into his tie. The masses were going to see it all exactly as he did. The coveted truth.
The address she’d left him led to a warehouse for a paper company. Incredibly boring on the outside as far as evil layers went, the perfect disguise. He followed her instructions further, around the back entrance, there was no one around, as she’d guaranteed.
He glimpsed the watch peaking from his sleeves. 2:05 PM. Perfectly prompt, as they’d agreed, a weird time for a break in, but Elle had persuaded him this would be better.
All that was left was for her to open the door.
