okay, so he has a fever, whatever. he’s also got a toddler to take care off, and anyway sirius has never exactly been known to do as told, especially if that includes not moving. he shuffles into the kitchen, looking as miserable as he feels, but he can’t stay in bed any longer, he’ll lose it. “sod off, love,” comes the halfhearted response, reaching for a mug for some tea. you sound like my mum lays on his tongue, mostly as a reflexive insult, but if gabriel sounded like the matriarch of the black family, there would be a lot more screaming and he’d have a headache on top of this fever. “i’m fine. and it’s not fair to have you watching over harry.”

“And then he actually set my parchment on fire! My assignment for Charms! Due tomorrow! Can you believe that?” How was he supposed to have any fun now that he had to redo an entire assignment? Sirius couldn’t just tell Flitwick that his assignment was set on fire by his brother, despite the well-known tension between the two, because even though the professor was understanding it was still homework and Merlin knows Sirius was terrible at behaving on a good day. “I’m gonna be up all night redoing this nonsense. It’s not even interesting.”
