Some musing
I just realized the major difference in effectiveness on the M’Arillian mind-control versus the Danian Parasite:
-The mind-control did work because it’s based upon mental perception. Since the kids in Perim are mental shadows of their real selves and function like how they would on Earth, it makes sense that their ‘minds’ could be overtaken and their perception warped.
-The Danian parasite wouldn’t work since the bodies of the kids in Perim are made of code and hard-light holograms. The parasite would likely try to burrow, cause a break in the code, and then cause the body to shatter and result in the human being coded.
With this in mind, if the Danians really hated having players in their Hive, why didn’t they try this? They’d get rid of so many humans that way and then no player would want to go there.
