▲ “Whaddya mean I can’t submit another request? I really really want to go on an adventure!” Paige called out angrily to the counselor in the cathedral, having filled the advice box with the same request for weeks now. Paige’s voice echoed away, speaking much louder than what was considered respectful and thus attracting some strange glares from the students and faculty around them.

▲ Maybe it was a silly request, but it meant a lot to Paige. They wanted so badly to fit in, but no one would give them just as much as a glance. Paige was only 13 years old, and they hadn’t earned Lady Rhea’s favor yet. They mulled over the reality of their situation in frustration, storming off and tossing the crumpled-up request to the floor. “No one’s gonna listen to a kid like me, huh...” they groaned, stomping by another student who happened to be praying despite the noise.

“ ––what? oh, no, no I don’t. uh;” it’s a rare moment to see them so nervous. as if they’ve been caught in the act. “well, I don’t really pray, I guess. daily prayer isn’t part of the Faith where I’m from... so I... well, I want to pay my respects to your Goddess, as a guest in this land, but I’m not really sure how.”

For once, Sylvain wasn’t running from a girl or her brother, angry with his actions.  He was actually running from one of the knights who’d heard how well he did on the last battle exam and had wanted to talk shop with him.  He’d rather get beat up by an angry brother than do that.

“Sorry, Mercedes.” She’d been right in front of one of the utility closets in the dining hall, and as he rushed to hide, he ended up pushing her in as well and slamming the door.  “Just... be quiet until he’s gone, please?”

Claude figured, out of all the students, Mercedes was someone he should’ve expected to show concern when someone was sick. He should’ve known she’d come to check on him when he hadn’t shown up outside lately- Word probably got around, after all.

Even so, in his sickly state, his brain wasn’t working at full logic. So, when he heard a knock, he expected one of the professors, or something... Not Mercedes. But when he opened the door, that was just who was there.

“If you’re coming to scold me for something, I’ve been in my room the whole time; Someone framed me. Honest, this time.”

Claude doesn’t, particularly. While he may flirt a bit(often unintentionally), and he’s interested in someday finding someone he can fully trust and share his secrets and ambitions with, he doesn’t really think he’s a romantic.

             THE OTHERS CONCERN WAS enough to put a smile on her face. She had much to live for and had no intentions of dying today. While it would be ideal to not get injured at all… that was simply a promise that she couldn’t make. Ingrid looks towards Mercedes with confidence before giving a nod of the head. It was just a training session today – but even so, she would give it her all.
