I am once again toying with the idea of leasing or outright selling Maximus to a good home. This is not an easy decision at all. I love him a lot, but he is a horse that needs consistent work so as to not regress in his training. He wants to be worked with, and he is not a jump-on-and-go horse (yet), which is all I will have time for with paramedic school starting in the fall. When I'm in school I don't think I'll be able to give him any consistency whatsoever; even when I'm not in school, some days I just do not have the wherewithal to properly work him (yay depression and chronic sleep deprivation). So for a whole year he's going to sit in his pen and get rusty, and that's not fair to him… plus all the work I've put into him in the past year and a half will go to waste. Whereas if I can find a gentle trainer looking for a decent project and willing to put in the time, he will really thrive elsewhere.
Please pray for me for guidance in this matter.
