Women of the cloth

Of faith

Who cradle their faith close to their chests

With heavy but sturdy arms

Women of god

These women who love

With no pause but plenty caution

Who love with no man around

These women who sit me under clears skies

To tell me of when they were girls too

Those flame lillies

Who never cry to save face

These women of no affection

Women of prayer

Bruised knees and styfuled years

Those flame lillies that grew

These whores

These madonnas

Of light

And dark

These saints

These sinners
