What are the Huawei MA5631/MA5632 used for?
The MA5631/MA5632 is mainly used in a passive optical network (PON)+EoC (optiCable for short) network. The MA5631 supports gigabit-passive optical network (GPON), Ethernet passive optical network (EPON), and gigabit Ethernet (GE) upstream transmission modes. It also supports input and output of one to four ports of radio frequency (RF) signals. The MA5632 supports GPON, EPON and GE upstream transmission modes, and one or two ports of radio frequency (RF). Supporting a valid bandwidth of currently 300 Mbit/s and future 1 Gbit/s (MAC layer), the MA5631/MA5632 can meet users' requirements for bandwidth-hungry services. Figure 1-1 shows the position of the
MA5632 on the network and the typical network topology of the MA5631/MA5632.

The MA5631 can be installed against a pole, in a corridor cabinet, in a community outdoor optical node, or in an outdoor ground-mounted cabinet.
