Please help me decide on my “new” theme. Here’s the list and here’s my ask!

Tutorial - Cutout

So I did a tutorial requested by anon of this edit I made. I used the site Pixlr Editor because I don't have Photoshop.

Note: Some of the edit e.g the background will not be the same because I didn't save in between but the method's the same.

1. Open up Pixlr Editor and create new image and make it transparent.

2. Open up your image. For this one I used this one.

3. Take your image and using the wand tool get rid of the background. Adjust the tolerance to suit the picture. If some of the background does not go, use the rubber to rub it out.

4. Zoom into the top part of the dress, and using the lasso rectangular tool cut out part of the sleeve that is one colour. Feather it slightly so that it is not so angular. This may take a few tries so experiment with what works best.

5. Choose your colour, in this case I used blue to represent the book version of the dress, and fill in the section. I suggest using the brush as it will fill is completely.

Keep the opacity 100% as that is the point. Continue just for the top part and the ribbon.

6. For the flowy skirt part of the dress, I use the lasso tool just for the top part.

Fill it in.

Continue down. I took a shade darker each time to resemble the gradient.

I use the lighter colour of the pair and turned down the opacity to blend the layers together.

7. For the gap I started with a blue darker than the rest and then slowly lightened it towards the top. 

8. For the skin, I started with the arm. I used the wand too and held down shift to select for than one space. You can use the lasso tool if it's easier. Select the whole arm and choose a skin colour that you think matches.

Do the same for the face, neck and other arm. Optional: Lessen the opacity of the skin colour and go over the shadows on the arm for dimension.

9. Do the same with the hair, and choose a colour that suits. For the hair on the neck I used a slightly transparent colour so that the texture can still be seen.

I had to take the pen and impromptu the stringy bit.

10. Resize the canvas so that it is 500 (the standard for one image)

11. For the textured background, since Pixlr can't download textures, I find this one on the internet and insert it. Duplicate the layer 4 times so that it fills the length. Since the pattern isn't very synchronized the start and end is quite sutble

Merge the background layers together and then desaturate and brighten.

Choose your colour and fill a new layer. For the tutorial I chose a different colour. Lower the opacity until desired colour and crop out the sides.

Merge the two layers.

12. Move the person layer to the top and save.

Note: If you are unsure about this, use lots of layers incase you stuff up. I was lazy so I didn't.
