The flashbacks had gotten worse. More intrusive. Popping into her nightmares and her daydreams, in the middle of training, and worse, while she was fighting. She thought it was the stress of the Siege, but they had continued. All she wanted was for them to stop. But it didn’t look like they’d be going anywhere on their own.
Visiting Genosha, she had learned a lot. Like the fact that there were a lot of new faces, and one of them had powers very similar to Jean’s. That seemed like a sign. Asking Jean to help her with this would be... well, it would mean opening herself up to being vulnerable in front of a friend, and Carol loathed that. But maybe this new girl, Madelyne, could help her.
She asked around casually until she was pointed in the right direction. “Hey there,” she said, approaching the young woman. “Are you Madelyne Pryor? I have a proposition for you,” she said, extending her hand. “Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, aka one of the coolest heroes around,” she said, smirking a little.
