I worked a bit on the third person camera, which will require different controls and UI, as well as a separate way to deal with walls and back-face culling (like with the windows in the hospital screenshot, but if I can get them to transition seamlessly, it will mean people can play my games in whatever perspective they prefer, changing at whatever time they prefer).
While in Florida for the past two weeks, I worked on developing an ocean wave shader, a raindrop on the ground system, footsteps that vary by what you are walking on, a water splashing system for walking through water, and a Medical Diagnoser System for helping cure villagers in the island realm. I also began thinking about a ‘conversation input’ system - as in, two people are having a conversation and ask for your opinion, as well as the Query System for asking NPCs about things around the level.
It’s also worth noting that the tropical video games that include blue Kool-Aid ocean water...are NOT full of shit (notice how the white ship proves there is no color balance trickery - this is ACTUALLY what it looks like to my eyeballs, even moreso if you wear polarized sunglasses to reduce surface reflections):
