I never understood why in straight relationships there's this expectation that you're supposed to not like your partner (the old complaining about the nagging wife etc). Why the hell else are you together if you're not affectionate and loving? Don't let anyone try to dictate what kind of relationship you have. Clearly society has no idea how this is supposed to work.

I don’t know! I’m tired of this expectation and fake-ass coolness of feigning prudishness for the sake of “not letting your guard down” or “if it doesn’t work out, you wouldn’t regret being so invested” etc. etc. 

Like everything is so fatalistic with some folks it’s so weirdly bitter when they look at a happy couple and say “Uhm... can’t you be more low-key with your puppy love?”
