Historical Landmarks
Have you ever been to Cebu's iconic Magellan cross? If not, you should try going there. One of Cebu's most well-known historical monuments is the Magellan Cross, which would be thought to have been originally planted by Ferdinand Magellan and some other Portuguese and Spanish explorers as a Christian cross. On March 15, 1521, when they arrived in Cebu, it was planted. Christianity first appeared in the nation on that day as well.
The original cross was clipped away since ancient people thought it had extraordinary healing abilities. Government officials allegedly felt compelled to cover it in another wooden cross made from tindalo. It now resides in a tiny chapel. Even so, rumors claim that the original cross was demolished or lost upon Magellan's demise.
