Questions for Baby Witches to Research
i personally consider myself a "baby witch" (though witch isn't quite the term i prefer), so these questions are things i've seen around and things i am interesting in learning. there are generalities to research, but don't be afraid to dive into niche or specific topics, if they call to you.
what is a green witch? a kitchen witch? a lunar witch? an astrological witch? a sea witch? a divination witch? there are more "types" of witches but here are some off the top off of my head.
what are the properties of some basic things (like salt, colors, crystals)?
how can i use herbs found in the kitchen? (some examples are basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, paprika, pepper, onion, garlic, turmeric)
how does time affect magick? (sunrise, sunset, noon, evening correspondences)
what are closed practices? (as well as identifying closed practices, knowing which ones are okay to practice)
what is divination?
what is taro? (what are tarot cards?)
what are runes?
what is a pendulum? (as used in magick)
what crystals are safe to use in water? safe to be buried?
what are spirit guides?
what do some commonly seen symbols represent? (baphomet, pentacle, pentagram, triple goddess, horned god, thor's hammer, valknut)
what is the history of magick? (this one is more broad and difficult to genuinely research)
when it comes to researching correspondences, don't try to learn the meanings of every herb or every crystal or every color. don't try to catalogue things you will not conceivably use. start out with what you have. a bottle of table salt, some black ground pepper? you have a little clear quartz? maybe some eggshells or a bottle of water you left out in the sunlight/moonlight? a necklace with a heavy charm on it? some paper and a pen? that is enough to get started.
