@magnumb asked: 🍫🍫🍫🍫 it's a sticky handful of... something, but leon's got a straight face as he holds the wrapped candy out to him.
luis takes the sticky wrapper without a care , grinning in a way thats almost childish , an excitement to him that even he himself believed he had lost. " where did you find these ?" luis asked eagerly opening the wrapper , but careful , end of the world type of stuff taught him to treasure the rare things now.
taking one out he popped the small fruit flavored candy into his mouth , then offered the open bag to leon. " these were ones of my favorite "
" put this over it to stop the bleeding. " leon's eyes are on his hands, shoving a clean length of fabric at ada. they shake a little, he's trying not to let everything get to him, but the last several hours have been rough, to say the least, and the blood loss hasn't been helping. the least he can do is help ada patch herself up. // re2 leon my beloved
" are you sure you still want to continue ? " the situation had became more dire the further they delved under only a matter of time till they would reach the NEST & with it the point of no return what Leon had seen so far was a walk in the park to what awaited. she knew Annette wouldn't hand over the g virus so easily ( * an understatement when she would have rather had Ada burned alive ) hues gazing over at clean length fabric , fingertips reach & take ... pressing the cloth to the wounded area. brows furrow in the sting to the leg that follows. the cloth stains red filters and bubbles at the contact from overexertion and her own stubbornness of brushing off leon attempts to help. " I mean look at us , shoulder and leg that already half of a person down. "
this had been her objective , the other was an unexpected factor playing into it that the mercenary has to account for ( * wanting the best ; to help but she doesnt miss the slight tremble to hands when gaze flickers there momentarily and back to look at him ) he's scared & Ada doesn't fault him for it. the difference between them is that she has seen this before , the monstrosity and greed of men playing GOD. he helps to secure the fabric around , she reaches palm placed atop warm & the scent of copper and smoke is something that they both have gotten used to by now.
" because right now I can't do this by myself. "
it selfish but Ada options are limited & he's her best bet. she's not working at her best ( * at the optimal state to carry out what she has set to do ; Annette still playing cat & mouse around the place ) the act of righteousness doesn't suit her , atoning for her and William deed that mad man running around the place only a fragment of the scientist he was once.
Essential reading: Arthur Jafa’s ‘MAGNUMB’ is a new release this week from @louisianamuseum Though he has worked in film and music for decades, American video artist @anamibia only garnered acclaim in the art world in 2016 for his video work "Love is the Message, the Message is Death." Composed of found images and videos, his oeuvre revolves around Black American culture, the history of slavery, and ongoing structural and physical violence against Black Americans. As Jafa put it in his 2003 text “My Black Death”: “The central conundrum of black being (the double bind of our ontological existence) lies in the fact that common misery both defines and limits who we are. Such that our efforts to eliminate those forces which constrain also function to dissipate much which gives us our specificity, our uniqueness, our flavor by destroying the binds that define we will cease to be, but this is the good death (boa morte) to be embraced.” This essential overview presents Jafa’s best-known works, such as "Love is the Message, the Message is Death" and its 2018 follow-up piece "The White Album," alongside never-before-seen projects and essays by notable scholars. Edited by Lærke Rydal Jørgensen & @mathiasussingseeberg Foreword by Poul Erik Tøjner. Introduction by Mathias Ussing Seeberg.
