Dating Valko and MC was… different than you expected. You weren’t sure what you were expecting to begin with: maybe sitting in with them on dates or going out to hang out sometimes.
As it turned out, both of them were very clingy.
MC you already knew about. From childhood, she liked to hang off of you. Holding hands in crowds, sitting thigh-to-thigh on the couch, clinging to you like a koala during sleepovers… you just didn’t expect it from her boyfriend too.
“He has a thing,” she’d told you one morning while eating breakfast. “Wolf instincts. He likes to scent people he’s close to.”
Strangely not the weirdest thing you’d ever heard. It also wasn’t a dealbreaker. (You still side-eyed MC when she brought up the wolf thing… until Valko himself scared you half to death with his wolf form one night. So your boyfriend was a wolf. And you were just supposed to… live with that information? Well, at least you had fun making Twilight jokes. MC just looked at you with a deadpan expression whenever you called her Bella. Valko had no idea what it was until you forced him into a Twilight marathon.)
He was very energetic. Liked trying new things or enthusing you with his creativity (such as… cocoa eggs. You didn’t not like it, surprisingly). A lot of that energy was devoted to scientific research, though - once or twice you let yourself into his lab only to find him furiously typing notes into a laptop with takeaway containers and water bottles stacked on his desk. He hadn’t even noticed you come in until he turned around and damn near jumped out of his own skin upon seeing you standing there.
But as hard as he (and she) worked, he made sure to save time for you both. At the strangest times, but he was trying. One night he startled you by showing up at your apartment in the middle of the night for a drive to a nice hilltop view where he set up a picnic. On another day, he showed up at your work during a guided tour, beaming at you, metaphorical tail wagging, and he later took a lunch with you. Given that this was a representative of EonCore, nobody said anything, but you got so many side-eyes after he left.
Not to be outdone, MC ramped up her own time with you. More nights than not, she’d meet you after work and take you out, whether it was to a restaurant or a shopping spree somewhere at a mall that closed very late. She lent you her cardigans and oversized jackets, complaining that she was “shirking her girlfriend duties”... never mind that you had previously shared clothes before. It was only when you videocalled her in one of Valko’s shirts that she seemed to redouble her efforts.
They competed a lot in that regard. Whether it was Valko rubbing himself all over you until he was satisfied or it was MC claiming a girls’ night and draping herself on you while you binged on comedy movies and snack platters, you consistently smelled like cologne or sweet perfume. Or sometimes both. It was amusing how Valko’s nose would twitch when you smelled like both of them. (Of course, then he would wonder aloud if you smelled enough like him, and the cycle of scenting would continue.)
“Where the hell you been, loca?” Valko called out, snapping you out of your thoughts. Ever since you made him watch the Twilight saga, unfortunately he had latched onto that one quote and kept repeating it whenever he saw you.
He swept you up into a tight hug, lifting you physically off your feet. His pecs squished your face, woodsy cologne filling your nose, and for a second you were in heaven. And then he brought you back down to earth by setting you back down, grinning brightly at you.
“Ready for today?” He asked. “MC said she’d meet us at the amusement park.”
You couldn’t help but let his enthusiasm soak into you. You nodded eagerly. “Yep! I’ve just got to change.”
“Aw, babe, you look good as you are right now.”
You patted his cheek, smiling as he leaned into your touch. “Aren’t you sweet. But no, seriously, I don’t want to go to our date in work clothes. Let’s stop at my place for a minute.”
As soon as you freshened up and changed, you both went to the amusement park, where MC was sitting on a bench scrolling on her phone. As soon as you approached, she looked up and beamed.
“Hey!” She greeted, hopping up to pull you in for a kiss. When she pulled back, she gasped in delight. “You’re wearing our dress!”
“Great minds think alike!” You laughed, noticing her matching attire.
Valko linked arms with both of you. “C’mon, let’s go. Didn’t you wanna try the thrillercoaster?”
“Hang on, I thought you didn’t like rollercoasters.” You squinted at your girlfriend.
“With you and Valko, I think I can manage.” MC answered with a wink.
Your date was full of activity. From stopping at trinket shops to trying amusement park food (and laughing when Valko got tricked into dipping his cotton candy in his soda and watching him stare in bemusement as it melted), you had a blast.
And then you got to the Thrillercoaster.
MC squeezed your hand extra tight as you all got into your seats. Valko was seated behind you, but at least you got to sit with her. She seemed to calm down a bit more when he rested his hands on her shoulders.
“I’m ready,” she breathed to you.
She still flinched when the ride started. She gripped your hand extra tight during the initial ascent, and clenched her eyes shut as you approached the first drop. It was only when the car halted and she cracked them open to see what was happening that you finally dropped.
She screamed with the others around you, but to your relief, it seemed to be out of excitement than fear. She laughed maniacally as you went around, braid flying, eyes wild.
The ride came to an end, your restraints came loose, and she got to her feet with renewed energy. Her legs and arms still shook as you were herded off of the rollercoaster, but she was practically vibrating out of her own skin.
“I feel incredible!” She exclaimed, grabbing Valko’s arm to steady herself. “What did you wanna do next?”
“Maybe we should sit down for a minute,” your boyfriend chuckled.
“No! I could run a marathon! I could take out twenty Wanderers!” She shook him for emphasis. “I kinda want to do it again!”
“Let’s get you some sweet ice,” you suggested, turning to go for the nearest food stall.
Arms wrapped around you from behind, and you yelped as she tugged you back.
“No, I don’t want sweet ice,” she huffed. “Fine. Let’s sit down. Sit on me for a few minutes.”
You shared an amused look with Valko as you found a bench and sat down together. She held you tightly in her lap, her leg bouncing, chin perched on your shoulder.
You were content to people-watch, even as Valko excused himself to get you all some steamed buns. By the time he came back, she had calmed down enough to accept a bun and shift you so that she wasn’t going to drop crumbs down your collar.
“You good to go?” He asked, licking the last of the sauce from his finger.
“Yep, all good.” She nodded, patting your thigh. “C’mon. Let’s go check out another ride.”
