I met a girl on the tram a few days ago who had a pretty necklace with a pendant that was very clearly Homura's soul gem from Madoka Magica and I asked her about it like the nosy nerd I am and it turns out she did not know Madoka Magica and the necklace was a present from her best friend who loves magical girl shows and I am now desperately curious about what happens to their friendship after this

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is such a queer anime, not just because Nanoha and Fate are pretty much married with a kid but also because a lot of the characters are clones, cyborgs, beings born of magic or technology or the intersection of both, and thus, often referred to as non-people by others or even themselves, even their status as truly living gets questioned at times, but the anime shows us that they are living real lives, forming real families and communities, and no matter what they were made as, their happiness matters.
