This quote goes hand in hand with a PLEN forum from NJ Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi. She really did an excellent job using her personal life experience to explain the various hardships woman face while on the path to successful lives. Her inspiring presentation explained that children and family do not have to be a burden. Most importantly, she stressed the subject that you must enjoy what you are doing to be truly successful. No one is obligated to do what they “think” society expects them to do because of their gender, race, religion, or background.

This picture very accurately depicts the unfortunate state of society and rape culture. Time and time again woman are taught not to get raped opposed to men being taught not to rape. it is great to see a young woman taking a stand and refusing to let society put her at fault.

This poem really addresses major issues regarding race, power, and privilege. She does an excellent job explaining how black woman are walked over and unappreciated. This explanation is for black woman but this same story can be used to accurately paint a picture of the harsh realities for woman off all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
