Some beautiful beachfront camping in Mt. Maunganui, Northern New Zealand 1955.

Fun fact:  By the 1950′s New Zealanders enjoyed one of the highest rates of car ownership in the world. They drove in large numbers to popular camping grounds such as Mt Maunganui, near Tauranga, to stay in tents, caravans and cabins. Main Beach, seen here in 1955, had been a major holiday destination since the 1920s, but widespread vehicle ownership and other social developments brought record numbers of campers.

One reason why I wanted to go at the Gold Coast was H2O - Just add Water filmed there and I loved this show so bad when I was a teen 🙈 So of course I had to wear Cleo‘s necklace as a tribut to that today 😊
