The Web-Based Interview
Okay, so I know it's been a while, but I'm overworked and graduating soon, so... yeah.
Anyway, some time after you get your e-mail confirming you submitted a DCP application, you'll get another e-mail inviting you to complete the Web-Based Interview (WBI). This is basically a test to see whether or not you know how to answer questions the way Disney wants you to. This is where I messed up my first time, because I was too honest about my shyness and my people anxiety. Disney doesn't like that. Think about it this way: Disney wants to make sure you're Disney enough to work for them. So just say what you think Disney wants. Chances are, if you really want this internship, the most Disney answer is probably the truest, anyway.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
You're going to work in a theme park. This is a customer service-heavy job. If they ask a question about whether or not you like people, the answer has to be yes.
This thing is timed, so you can't take forever to answer one question (or Google the answers to one question). Just lock on to your target and go for it.
Not gonna lie, this thing is obnoxious. They ask you the same question so many times they don't bother to try and phrase it differently.
I received my e-mail about a half hour after I submitted my application. Some people go weeks without receiving anything. Just because you don't get the WBI invite right away, that doesn't necessarily mean you're not being considered. They just process applications differently using some weird wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey system I don't understand.
You should hear back pretty quickly after the WBI whether or not you made it through to the next round. Like I figured out a year ago, not everyone makes it through. And as I found out a month ago, your first try doesn't have to be your last.
