An alternative way of cleaning and drying your makeup brushes
Hello beautiful,
Is there a certain task or chores that is so therapeutic to you that you didn't realize how time flies?
For someone as lazy as me I do have some and one of them washing my makeup brush. The smell of lemon scent dishwashing liquid is distressing. Hmmm, why can’t I feel the same way when I'm washing our dishes?
Speaking of makeup brush cleaning, I’ve found a better way of cleaning them (aside from the expensive makeup brush cleaners or baby shampoos or mild soap) from Michelle Phan's old YT video by using a mixture of olive oil and dishwashing liquid. I should say it's very good. My only issue is I don’t have brush guards to use for drying it. You see, makeup brushes should be dried upside down to prevent the water from seeping into the wooden handle or pooling near the glue that can cause brush hairs to loosen. Here’s the effective way of cleaning up my mu brushes and the alternative way of hanging them to dry.
1. Here’s what you’ll need:
Extra Virgin Oil
Dishwashing Liquid
A large plate
Masking Tape or Magic Tape
Clothes hanger with clips
2. Mix 1 part of olive oil and 2 parts of dish washing liquid into the plate. Wet the hair with water. After this, brushed and glide each brush to the mixture.
3. See that foundation brush? All the foundation just goes off with the mixture. Rinse out the mixture whenever it is saturated with dirt and makeup remnants and just make a new mixture for other brushes.
4. Once you’re done gliding all the brushes’ bristles into the mixture, rinse them thoroughly or until the water runs clear, pat them dry to a non-woven cloth. Wipe dry the brushes handles, as we’re going to hang dry these brushes later on.
5-6. Once all the brushes handle were wiped dried, cut a piece of masking tape about 2-3 inches depending on the brush handle thickness and stick it at the top of each handles as shown in the picture.
7. Finally, you can now attach the taped handles on hangers with clips and hang them dry.
