before the hiatus, louis was probably the most vocal reassuring fans 1d would be back. since the hiatus, he's been the most open and accommodating to fans. there are lots of ways to interpret that behavior (imo, he's trying to make up for 1d's break a bit, and also he's very happy right now and wants to share the love). but of course the only 2 possible options larries can see are the most horrible: either he's trying to spite briana or it's a stunt so he wants everyone to know where he is.
It’s so strange to me that strong Larries want to make him sound neglectful regardless of the terms of the custody arrangement (which even if it is not real, the “stunt” is adhering to the plausible schedule), meanwhile the person they believe Louis is becomes a less appealing, sympathetic human being every day they argue this “stunt” is continuing.
I don’t want to be the person who sets up the “either Louis is this [good thing] or he is this [bad thing]” dichotomy - I’ll leave that to them - but literally the person they think Louis is has now added “faked a massive personal security breach that allegedly drove Harry’s mum offline and has now involved members of Harry’s family to pretend to be upset about it not only to give Harry publicity, but also so that Larry rumors can be kept to a minimum when Louis pretends to be distraught about being proven to not be the father of a fake baby whose paternity he already signed felonious documents claiming” to his list of virtues.
So, I mean, they’ve already established that it doesn’t matter what they have to decide Louis would do in service of “Larry”: going out on a weekend when he doesn’t have custody of his son is worse. In that way, Louis reflects their own desires, their own misogyny and spite towards Briana, and their own disdain for the laws of the United States and the rules of argument that enable us to make rational, logical conclusions based on the evidence at hand. They’ve created a Louis in their own image, and they seem to be very happy together*.
*(they’re not happy. They’re struggling to create a new argument or explanation a minute, slinging one after the other in a constant barrage of stimuli so that nobody has time to catch up or do the math or realize that Harry and Louis still haven’t been seen in the same place in 2016 even as grainy over-the shoulder shots of Harry surface and “we are on track for a CO.” It’s been nothing but setbacks and red herrings for Larry as a ship in 2016, as it becomes more and more difficult to argue that paparazzi are holding on to misdated photos for months for no purpose whatsoever. They need to distract from the fact that it’s been two months since this child was born and it doesn’t matter WHERE Louis is, no one but them is questioning his paternity. There is no lead up, there is no pattern. There is no CO, there is no paternity denial, there is only time and a growing baby, and no matter how calm and happy they say they are, their actions show that they are neither.)
