Rating: “why isn’t everyone talking about this??!!11” out of 10. What a ship, what a perfect pure….. Im gonna insist this is a thing until it is, okay???

Plot: well after the usual transdimensional spirit portal business, mako finds himself landed with this extremely powerful but untrained firebender Feliks. Who has weird social issues and nice hair and turns out to be a really fun drinking buddy who knew but that’s not til later… First all the wonderful shenanigans of teacher!mako and learner!feliks, you can just see how this is going to go…

Anyway somewhere soon big time danger finds him and feliks shows his stuff and intense focus when necessary AND somehow some Situation develops where he dramatically saves mako’s life AND THEN they’re stuck trapped together in, like, a cave or something awaiting rescue and there’s a lot of talking and baring of souls and possibly other things and anyway. Day after, or once they’re recovered and have time it’s like “right we should probably.. Talk about what happened?” and they go out for noodles.

Korra and Asami start shipping them pretty heavily, at first just to be annoying. Wu has to be stopped from planning their wedding the minute he finds out.

Alternatively : pokemon AU, they are long long time rivals who just keep meeting :D

OKAY THEN.  This takes place I guess after xana’s one, with Korra, Asami Bolin &Mako going out to dinner.  Bolin and Korra are particularly messyeaters idk this is what I remember??  Iiii have never written these guys before.

“Yeah but, Mako, thething you have to remember,” Bolin said with his mouth full, “is—”

“—I know;looking after the important visitors through the portals from otheruniverses is a great honour, bla bla bla and etcetera…”  Makosighed.

“I was goingto say: is you’re not bodyguarding Wu anymore!  Get some perspective, bro!”

Mako shook his head. “This is worse.”

Bolin, Korra andAsami stared at him.

“Worse?”Korra’s noodles dropped out of her mouth as her mouth dropped open.

“Not possible,”Asami stated.  “I remember you with Wu, you were all… in thisconstant state of stress, to put it mildly.”

“Yespossible.  Wu didn’t set things on fire.”

“Oh,he’s a firebender?” Bolin asked.  “Cool.”

“Afirebender from another world?” Korramused.  “That’snew.”

“Yeah,that’s the issue—it’s new to him too.”

“Oh.”

Makowaved it away.  “Himoccasionally shooting fire Ican cope with.  I can’t cope with himbeing so… Feliks.”

“Go ahead, let allthe rage out,” Bolin advised, before returning his attention to hismeal.

“Agh, where tostart?  He’s rude and vain and pushy, he’s loud—except when he’snot.  He wanted to go out and see the city, but then for no reason hefreaks out and hides behind me? It’s like he has no concept of personal space, but of course if Iget close to him, hefreaks out again!  After he burnt all the paint off a patch of thewall he was talking about redoing it pinkor… phthalo green??  Whateven is that?  We literallyhad to go out to a paint store right then!  He didn’t want to go tothe formal dinner, and he didn’t want to meet anyoneelse so I was stuck with him the whole time.  The first thing he saidto me was about my eyebrows!!  He’s obsessed with his hair—”

“Oh, sure, becausethat sounds like no one weknow,” Korra interrupted.

“Hey–”

“Sowhat’s his hair like?” asked Asami quickly.

Makorolled his eyes.  “Okay, I admit it’s quitenice.  Kind of—so long and… frameshis face orwhatever, all straight and shiny.  Andit’s bright yellow, but itworks for him I suppose.”

“Reeeally?”

Korra and Asamiexchanged some sort of look.  Asami pushed aside her empty bowl andput her chin in her hands.

“Whatabout eyes?”

“Uh,very green, likea cat and… are you teasingme?”

“Nooo.”

“Whereis he now anyway?” Korra looked around the restaurant like ayellow-haired untrained firebender might be hiding under any table.

“Ugh, I left himdisassembling one of the squad’s bikes in the parking lot.”

“Disassembling it? Why?”

“I have no idea.  To see if he can?  It seemed to keep him happy and he said he’d stayput as long as I was back in two hours.”

“He’s anengineer?”

“He’s a menace! He’s … ack!  There are not words for this.”

“So you’ll be gladwhen he’s gone and you never see him again ever?”

“Iwill be so glad.”

“Really?”said Korra.

“Yes!”

“Really,”said Asami.

“Yes. Why are you both looking like that?”

Bolin looked up, sensing the sudden lull in the conversation. “—sorry, I was justwriting my Opal letter in my head, what’d I just miss?”

“Nothing!”Mako said.  “They’re being all weird again.”

“Hey,”said Korra.  “More seriously, I need to talk to him about thefirebending and Spirit stuff in other worlds and all.  So, you think youcould convince him not to freak out when I do?”

Mako sighed.  “Yeah,that should be fine.  He’s quite interested in that,actually.”

“And,Mako?  Untrained firebender on the loose?  Maybe you shouldbe teaching him.  Sounds like it would be less stressful than thistourist business anyway.”
