🪙 — A splitting headache has befallen Varrick after his daily morning routine. And later, he had an argument with his secretary who rage-quitted on him. Again.
Rather than spending any more time in his office and deal with whatever paperwork he's supposed to get through, he just heads to his workshop straight away to get some soldering done. All he wants right now is a day of peace, quiet, and machinery that doesn't talk back. Sitting on the floor, surrounded by scrap-metal to weld together. At least until his mood gets back into balance.
But alas— after a while, he hears the door swing open behind him. (He really needs to get better at locking that thing on days like this.) Footsteps follow.
Varrick sighs, switches off the soldering iron, and perks up from the pile of half-finished metal plates. He pushes his goggles down to hang around his neck and forces his showman-smile back on his face.
"Oh, it's you! What a pleasant surprise. I'd offer to let you come in, but it looks like you've already helped yourself. Great! Just, try not to trip over anything in here. The last thing I need right now is an insurance claim against me and a body in my workshop that I'll have to dispose of to NOT having to deal with said insurance claim~"
He finally gets back up from the floor and pats off dust from his coat.
"Since you've come all the way here, I am going to assume that you have good news about my stolen goods?"
