Chapter 1: Birth and early years
King Derratikus was born on a hot night. To his mother Queen Rala and King Silok. He was immediately taken from his mother? cleaned and given to his father, as Dragonia traditions state.
He was a kind, smart, and powerful Prince. Learning fast and fighting hard. The prince was destined to be great. And everyone knew this. He aced all of his training, demanding to take the tests the generals took.
Silok allowed him, and he finished all of them in record time. Making both his parents proud. Everyone was impressed with this young boy. He was what the kingdom needed.
King Silok had brought the kingdom to ruin. Two wars were going on and Dragonia was losing. Derratikus decided at 10 years old he was going to save his people. He joined the generals in the war room as they discussed strategy. He looked and studied on the enemies' territories and laws.
But soon tragedy struck. His father was meeting with the other kingdoms leaders and was killed. Derratikus got news when he was a mere 11 years old. He was crowned king.
Chapter 2: Soulmates
He had no time to waste finding a queen. He set up balls and dances, desperate, but couldn't find someone as tough as he needed until he saw her. She was beautiful, eyes cold as ice. She didn't have a smile. Like she wanted to leave.
Some say it was love, others say just lust. It didn't matter because he was drawn to her. He made his way to her, and she ignored him at first, which made him laugh. She was playing hard to get with the king? That was a dangerous game.
They danced for hours. And talked. He always told his servants that her smile was all he needed to want to fight for her. And servants would say they truly were in love. Her name was Minerva. And they got married 2 years later.
For the first few years Derratikus spent all his time fighting the war. Minerva on the other hand spent her days working on the poverty in the kingdom. Creating charities so she could build orphanages with schools.
Both were focused on the kingdom and its people. That was until Minerva became pregnant. The king was so happy. He knew he needed an heir. And Minerva was going to provide one.
Soon, their child was born. A girl. King Derratikus was disappointed. And they immediately took her. Branding the child on the back of her neck with a "D" before she was even named.
She cried loudly and the King left her with his men. He wished not to hold her. That was her mother's job.
They took the baby back to her mother as she wailed in pain. Minerva named her Malauna.
Chapter 3: The Child
Minerva raised her daughter as she was meant to, but was unable to produce another child. This caused the king to bring in mistresses. He needed a male heir. Eventually, one was born 2 years later from a woman named Ala. The boy was named Cala.
Cala would meet Malauna, and it was whispered the boy would have people hit her. The servants would obey. The king cared not for Malauna. Cala was important. Malauna was a girl. Unimportant. Useless. Only to be married off.
His wife had failed him by not giving him a boy. He anger was high.
Then the castle was raided, Queen Minerva was kidnapped. He was given an option, no one knows what the option was but he didnt take it. He simply threw the letter in the fire.
After a month, Dragonia stormed Stilton and destroyed everything in sight. They found the Queen. There are no records on how she was found. The only thing that was recorded was that she was unstable.
She ran into the castle, finding Malauna and hugging her desperately. The king saw this and ordered Minerva unwell. Malauna held on as servants tore her from Minervas arms. Minerva clawed at her, so deep the servants stopped for a moment. Then they knocked Minerva out and took Malauna from her mother.
Malauna grew up raised by the nannies. There a reports that Cala would abuse her. Then one day he went to far. Sent her to the infirmary. She awoke to the king. He never visited her.
She had been in a coma for two months. In that time, Cala had gotten sick, passing away a week later. And the king had to resort to his last heir. The girl. So he set up her classes and taught her what she needed.
Chapter 4: The Death
The kings last year's were angry. His hate ran deep for his daughter. He couldn't stand the fact she was to be queen. He had wished for her to take Calas place. Her voice angered him. She looks just like her mother. He hated it.
So her ordered the servants to cut her horn. Wanting her to be different from her mother. He loved her mother, he hated her. So the servants obeyed. Holding her down as they sawed her horn.
The screams made Derratikus smile. Once they were done, he kept the piece of her as a souvenir. Putting it in the thrown room.
The girl avoided that room. She avoided the king.
Then, a man challenged her father to a death claiming. It was one of the most ruthless merciless soldiers, Drakonius. Derratikus fought his hardest. Not to keep his daughter, but merely to live, but it was no use. The king was killed. His last words were to his daughter. "I hate you."
