Happy heavenly centenary & a year: 101st birthday to a very important, influential, inspiring, infamous & iconic figure in black politics & activism, especially in regards to black nationalism, national identity & empowerment: Malcolm X! coming from a awful upbringing caused by racial segregation, threats, loss of loved ones, poverty & disencouragement from a segregated-separated society as the former status quo and further on by his religious beliefs & dedicated but is not credited & recognised as much in regards to his actions & work in the civil rights movement. As such he advocated for black identity, empowerment, support, nationalism & justice that has made him a polarizing figure accused of promoting violence & the other of staying strong, resisting & resilient to a society that didn’t see him or the rest of the many who shared the same identity as black as equal and equitable, but through his work, voice, changing ideals & views & speeches, Malcolm X made a name for himself & for many within black communities, nationalist circles, empowerment parties & more but even after his passing due to assassination: he remained someone of a influential legend raising self esteem, solidifying identity, encouraging reconnections with lost ancestry, & defying the society filled with inequality, supremacy & discrimination.
