My renditions of some classic Spyro Villains!! Red and Malefor respectively.
Redraw of a piece from 2021!
I am a die-hard fan of the TLoS trilogy on PS2. As a teenager, I used to draw various things on paper. Recently, my friend started streaming his playthrough, bringing back pleasant feelings of nostalgia. While it's still here and on boosty enjoy it! :>
Day 8 - Backstory
This feels a bit like a cop out purely bc I’ve already done so much w/ Hex regarding her backstory but I had this really cool tapestry idea guys 🥺
Both from The Lehend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon. Some cute ship art between Spyro and Cynder and a piece named "Bad Ending" with Malefor, Dark Spyro and Dark Cynder.
A Requiem of Darkness
After somewhat of a month of slow work its all finished. Now I will state about some things later in the description so there's no confusion.
This whole multiple art piece was inspired by destiny Intertwined, specifically this page from the comic: https://destinyintertwined.thecomicseries.com/comics/266/
With how Malefor is written in the comic.
What also inspired this but also reminded me was the prophecy from the God of War games. The marked warrior prophecy, in short was said to destroy Olympus, which Ares would use them to bring down its walls which was Deimos. However Kratos would be one to destroy all of Olympus, which his life was ruined by those obsessed with prophecy.
Malefor's dialogue from the comic on how vague prophecies were told and how the dragons assume he's meant to save them darkness. Specifically save them from the dark dragons. Despite it being a fan-made comic to explore a past around Malefor, it definitely feels like how it leads to the events of the main TLOS games.
(I will say how I see Malefor now is also inspired by the comic)
Both sound similar to each with those obsessed with prohecy, however both end of ruining their lives for the worse and end up becoming what was foretold. While they are both different, the whole thing makes it sound similar which I really liked.
Now for some things to address.
This entire art sequence takes place before the main events of TLOS, and the city in this is not Warfang. If some of you notice how young mal looks similar to Destiny Intertwined's I tried my best not to make him look similar. As this is my first time drawing young Malefor, which is I tried to make different, in way that would be my take at least.
Also this is not fanart for destiny intertwined, even though this whole thing was inspired by it.
I suggest you all read the comic if you haven't yet, its by DragonOfIceAndFire, its so good and I love how the story is going so far with the characters. Fair warning, the comic does get dark, and will involve some mature themes.
Tides of Darkness - Panel Redraw featuring Thrylos, ie Malefor!
This is fanart of the TLoS fancomic by CrazyTaizy, original panels on pages 135 and 138.

I've been meaning to draw some fanart for @CrazyTaizy 's The Legend of Spyro fancomic, Tides of Darkness, for years now! This page is an ama

I often think about how Malefor likely obliterated entire armies and high-ranking mages, upholding a reign of terror in Skylands for decades, maybe even centuries, until he targeted one woman who got sick of it and single-handedly defeated him. This trope is so simple but always so powerful
