Despite what many people think, there are stereotypes against men. One of the main stereotypes is similar to women: men have a desire and need for a woman. This lies within the lyrics of their songs. When men sing about being jealous of someone having the girl they want, or how they cannot live without a girl, the stereotype is evident. While this theme does appear in many songs, that does not necessarily mean that all men sing about this or that they truly feel this way. A stereotype that misrepresents the male population is the idea that men sing about taking control of women and using women for their own pleasure. While this is the case in many instances, it does not apply to every song and artist. Despite this fact, men are stereotyped as “harassing” women through their song lyrics.
