Abraxas Malfoy

People think Lucius was a tough dad but BOY OH BOY WAIT TILL YOU MEET ABRAXAS MALFOY. I like to think that he was easily five times stricter about pro-Pureblood laws and dedicated to status and wealth than his son or grandson were. He probably scared the shit out of Draco when he was a kid, ordering his five year old grandchild to stay away from Mudbloods and Blood Traitors because hanging around them would taint his own blood.

Part of the reason Abraxas grew to be so bitter and callous is owed to the death of Lucius’ mother (haha hey Jo WHAT’S HER NAME). After she passed, Abraxas closed in on himself even more and refused to open himself up to anyone ever again…his son included. In the end, it damaged their relationship severely; to the point where even Lucius avoided discussing anything pertaining to his childhood later on in life.

Abraxas is probably the epitome of arrogant and I’m willing to bet he’s the cockiest bastard in the world. I’m not saying that he has to enter the Fantastic Beasts franchise on a white unicorn with his hair blowing in the breeze and angels singing in the background as he descends to the ground and hisses “Don’t let the Mudbloods breathe on me”, but…I wouldn’t say no or anything to the idea…

I figure from a young age, Abraxas taught Lucius how to manage the family business. He wanted his son to be extremely interested in their family’s thriving company as well as a fierce inclusion in the politics of the Ministry; in a way, I suppose it’s possible to say that he set out to corrupt his only son at a young age.

Sometimes, in some AUs I picture that Lucius’ mother died while giving birth to him, and as such, Abraxas resented his son a great deal throughout the course of his life. Never enough to full-blown hate or despise him, of course, but the regret and bitterness was always very, very evident.
