Malraan, my drow cleric from D&D - bound by the constant fear of Lolth's cruelty finding them even on the surface
bachelor’s button : does your muse actively seek romantic companionship , or cherish the liberties of being single ?
forget - me - not : has your muse ever forgotten something that is or was important to them ?are they afraid of forgetting things like that ?
lavender : how easy is it to gain your muse’s trust ?once their trust is broken , how might one go about mending it ?
For Malraan, Rian and Cookie (you pick which one for whom)!
bachelor’s button : does your muse actively seek romantic companionship , or cherish the liberties of being single ? In the case of Rian it's definitely 'both'. She seeks affection whenever and wherever she can and if she were to find somebody willing to provide it in a relationship, she would readily agree - but since she's also an incurable flirt she often comes off as the one who isn't looking to go steady and attracts people of that mind (or accidentally discourages those with different expectations). She has her fun while single, but does dream of getting hold of something less fleeting, someday.
forget - me - not : has your muse ever forgotten something that is or was important to them ? are they afraid of forgetting things like that ? Malraan has only recently left the Underdark and while they loathe how they felt while living down there, it was a home to several individuals they grew close with - in spite it all. While a very drow part of them kept telling them that there is no point in holding onto the memories of those people since they are either already dead or still struggling down there while Malraan has no intention of returning... In reality, the thought of forgetting about them disturbs them to the point where one of the very first things they did once (relatively) safe on the surface was to start a journal dedicated solely to writing down their names and all the things they could recall about them or doing together with them. Their lives all meant something to Malraan, so it's the least they can do to prove it.
lavender : how easy is it to gain your muse’s trust ?once their trust is broken , how might one go about mending it ? ...I feel like I cheated by giving the other two questions to the others because in Beleth's case the answer would be: Not easy at all and once you break the trust he did decide to put in you - I can think of no easy way to get it back. I also think that I already established that in some other ask game so uhhh... I'll give a brief bachelor’s button answer here as a bonus to ease my conscience: It depends on the circumstances. He doesn't actively pursue anything romantic if he doesn't think he'll have time to dedicate to his partner, so since both the previous and the ongoing campaign I'm playing him in are both action-packed to the brim with not that much downtime - he's almost guaranteed to stick to one-night-stands.
OC asks 2&3 for both Beleth and Malraan! <3
2. What do strangers notice about them first?
Malraan: Among the drow it was often their eye colour not being Lolth's beloved red. A first behaviour observation to make might be how often they take time to take a look around their surroundings, even when seemingly entirely preoccupied with some other activity. They are not visibly jumpy or nervous, but definitely more vigilant than most. There is also the matter of their arm - but they do their best to keep it hidden from view by puffed up and filled up sleeves to avoid questions about necromancy (or being undead themselves) from strangers.
Beleth: The fact that he doesn't want to be approached for a pointless conversation... or at least that's what he *hopes* people are able to notice about him easily. A somewhat related observation could be that while he might smirk or huff to show amusement, he doesn’t seem to be too quick to smile. ...I am tempted not to mention the prominent infernal appearance traits and black armour for the edgy villain look because of how obvious it is - but yeah, I think he’s visually hard not to notice on the whole, even by fantasy world standards :’D
3. How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone?
Malraan: They are incredibly guarded around others, almost always having thought their words through before saying them out loud - they don't want to put themselves at risk unless they're confident speaking their mind without sugar-coating or omitting some details won't bite them in the ass. When alone they like to make up for it by talking to themselves, saying anything and everything that comes to their head.
Beleth: There is not too big of a discrepancy between Beleth among others and Beleth alone: in both situations he remains quiet and not very expressive unless angry. On his lonesome he lets himself look more dishevelled or tired than he would want to present himself to others, but that's about all I can think of right now.
