I’m experimenting with my reference sheets! So I asked who should get spoiled and Maltt won the vote unanimously and I immediately realized the poor guy has never had a reference sheet of his own before... 🥲

Doodled out the ✨ Dear Brothers ✨
Coll's disguise glamour tends to make their relation seem more apparent. He's always the same mean-looking bastard under the illusion, though. Maltt is starting to warm up to the idea, though! Even if most people think he’s the younger brother.

Cramped, Cluttered, and “Cozy” all aptly define “The Hot Port” like a professional golemancer’s schematic. This small gastropub is an up-and-coming member of the growing night scene found in central Rata Sum. Despite its humble origins (and limited leg space), the Hot Port shows promise as a new dining experience. With future edits to be made, of course.
The menu centers around traditional asuran cuisine, naturally. Most items appear to rotate frequently, however, with a small selection of the standard fare available regularly. The bar inside is fully stocked, featuring a variety of local craft brews, and even has a few imported items as part of the selection. (I recommend only half-shots from anything originating from the Shiverpeaks, eastward.)
I found the portions fair, for a low price, with an exemplary quality level not typically found in a locale literally a “hole-in-the-wall”.
Riding that tangent, good luck locating the place on your own. The krewe and I squandered a considerable amount of time attempting to puzzle out the entrance which was hidden in the back alley, indicated solely by a plain sign reading “Restaurant”.

new asura! based on that one post bc I lack self control; cleaned up the sketch as a warmup for other work off-and-on, but I came back around & went a little far with it...
Name: Maltt Occupation: Statics Grad; Barista (Soren Draa Cafe) / Bartender (The Hot Port) Age: young adult Character Tag: #Maltt
Lives with his aunt who raised him in Rata Sum & works 2 jobs regularly. Doesn’t know his mother, but knows about her.
Friendly, personable personality; makes friends easily; likes to paint his claws (favorite color is teal).
9730′s (mutually-unwitting) biological half-brother (same mother, technically).
What are the prime areas of study of your asura? Are they more inclined toward inventing or improving what already exists? Or do they do something else entirely?
The three studious asura I have are Atton, Maltt, and Blixx, honestly. Maxx is currently working at a... pre-college general education level.
Atton is more focused on advancement. He studies and works mainly in a biological field, but his focus has changed over time. He's branched off, considerably, from his original field, and often studies just to learn these days.
Blixx and Maltt are builders, though.
Blixx creates high-efficiency, eco-friendly energy cores for production. The best designs on the commercial market are often from his lab.
Maltt is more of a theoretical builder, though. He makes plans and designs--or he would if he could get a job for it.
Same mother “technically”, referring to that info post you linked? What’s the lore there?
Okay so! Maltt is a 100% normal asura. Boy meets girl > girl has baby deal.
Coll, however, is a chimera genetically engineered from a donated egg. Ex-utero development and everything.
Their "mother" was not involved in Coll's deal past "Hey donate an egg cell for science (and also brownie points)" whereas with Maltt, she actually carried him to term. It's a distinction I felt was important at the time of writing so I put that "technically" in there.
Knowing me, I probably also did it to make it sound more... Plot-twisty.
GASP MALTT Why'd he set up the hot pot? What college did he go to? How tech-y is he for an Asura? What about any potential past romantic endeavors? What was baby progeny Maltt like!
Heheh!
Maltt actually got set-up there by his friend, Kytten, who was already waiting there. It's not his spot, he just works it. In short, he already had his barista job in Soren Draa at that time, but he still needed money. He lives with and takes care of his aunt who raised him in the lower housing levels of Rata Sum. Part time at a coffee shop wasn't really doing him any favors.
But! He was a Statics student majoring in, essentially, civil engineering (I know, very typical). He's not been able to find a job in his field that doesn't require moving out of Rata Sum, though. He's actually really enjoying his stay with the Hot Port enough to let it go for now.
He's fairly "tech-y" tho! Just don't ask him to build something meant to move. He's more strongly rooted in math and logic than building skill.
Maltt is a huge flirt and a shameless charmer, so he's dated around a lot. Mostly in college. Nothing's been terribly serious, yet, and it might never be with him. He just likes people and mingling and he's charming to a fault.
And FINALLY... Baby Maltt had a huge personality from the get-go. You know those babies who always yell and talk with a huge smile on their face? Maltt. He was always a super active progeny and made friends effortlessly. Good with his studies, not so good with sitting still. Did everything with a lot of energy for the most part.
So... not too different compared to now.
