They use dinosaur items, they dance to transform, they shout foreign words potentially, and they have the same team colors as Kyoryuger. I was mildly joking when I suggested they might be making this an intentional hit for South Korea, but now I'm concerned that's literally what they're doing. It's like seeing an internet meme try to replicate what made them famous.

Yeah, this is definitely Bandai intentionally reusing parts of what made some of the most recent Sentai super popular in order to play it extremely safe. We have the Ranger Keys mixed in with elements from Kyoryuger, and it’s... working for me actually. So far, I’ve been loving what we’ve seen from Ryuusouger.

I’m just hoping it sets itself apart in terms of cast, story, etc. because I don’t want to see Kyoryuger 3.

So I'm not the biggest fan of Ghost as a character, but it's real cool that actor still making return appearances for the movies. At this point, he's appeared in 3 movies in a row, like Shotaro's actor from W (not counting Gaim since there was a gap there). I realize now I have no idea what Takeru's actor is all about, like is he a huge fan of Rider and is willing to keep coming back, or is he just not doing anything?

Other than stage plays and some other TV roles here and there, it doesn’t seem like he’s been doing much. I think he’s a fan of the character / franchise but also it seems like he doesn’t have any major commitments right now.

He has a movie coming out in November (Run! T High School Basketball Club) that was filmed with some Super Sentai/Kamen Rider alumni including Jun Shison (Right / ToQger), Junki Tozuka (Shunpei / Kamen Rider Wizard), Katsuhiro Suzuki (Hiromu / Go-Busters), Ryoma Takeuchi (Shinnosuke / Kamen Rider Drive), and Naoto Takenaka (The Hermit / Kamen Rider Ghost).

When it comes to the whole Decade 2.0 thing, I feel like at this point Zi-O is forming its own identity pretty well. Not only in the motif, but also in the way forms are handled - to me, Zi-O's moreso just a Rider who uses Legend Rider forms, rather than being anything that demands references to Decade. Would be fun to have Gackt do a new song though, haha (Also digging your updated blog design, nice logo)

I just want an excuse to see Tsukasa again. Honestly, I’m not feeling the Legend Rider stuff because it’s already been done so much since Decade. I do hope that Zi-O does set itself apart from Decade / other Legend Rider series.

I said more about it on my own blog but I'll also toss this here: I wonder if, in retrospect, those handful of forms from Build that only appear on toy packaging are what Bandai is doing going forward, since RyukiArmor follows the same logic. In both cases, we saw concept art in the toy catalog, but we generally don't see concept art for Ganbarizing forms. I think these can probably be called packing-exclusives now, haha

It’s a disappointing tease, haha. I really like the look of the Ryuki Armor and I’m positive this isn’t the last time they’ll give us a packaging exclusive form. 

Yeah, it was disappointing when this happened a few times in Build too and most, if not all, the forms teased looked really great there as well. Don’t make all those collectibles if they’re never going to be used!
