Shawn, Kansas City, 2018. Shawn sat for me after putting in work on the courts of historical Swope Park, a place my mother would frequent on Sundays. People still kick it there on Sundays. It reminds me of seldom times, maybe twice, driving through MacGregor Park in Houston, Texas. They are those places of privilege where you gotta have fam there to know fam and be aight. It goes down in Swope in every way as I was told. But, it was all love and breaking bread as I‘d gone on a weekday and most of the Sunday crowd was in their midday grind.
