Chapter 2: The Child
a part of her missed this feeling --- as though her feet were lead while the rest of her near floated . three bounties in the same sector ; had nobody thought to pass the message around , “ hey , maybe we shouldn’t all siphon off of the boss’ due credits all at once ? ” . stupid . dumb , and dead , she’d deal with the last one tomorrow . jett had almost forgotten what it felt like to be at her prime ; bounty after bounty with hardly any moment to think about anything not hunting related between them . she’d nearly forgotten what it felt like to be one of the best .
the door to the little space she’d taken up for the few days slides open with a hiss , one she mimics as the burns along her hand and arm throb . jett had never seen such a weapon before - some kind of hot whip ? it doesn’t matter - but she’d surely remember the scorching pain of having it wrapped around her limb for weeks to come .
her excitement to finally bathe and lay down dissipate in moments as the door shuts behind her ; her skin pricks , a life saving seventh sense , and before the room could breathe her weapon is drawn , pointed at the shadows .
“ if you’re here over your lackey , he’s DEAD . ” her voice starts , modulated and stable under her helmet , “ i’m sure your boss wouldn’t mind if i took your head in , too . ” @mandlorianer

Apparently the Descriptive audio feature confirms that the robots that we see at the end of the siege are in fact Dark Troopers

@mandlorianer, starter call.
gaze flickers between a son and his father. the former held so delicately in the mandalorian’s arms as they descend the ramp towards her. she can feel grogu’s touch on her mind, asking her not to separate them. it’s with his father that he wants to stay. she almost smiles, head tilting ever so slightly in a nod. ❝ i’ll stick to my word, i will train grogu. ❞ but don’t worry, little one, i won’t take you from your father. a bond like theirs is a rarity, a family is hard to find in such a vast galaxy. ahsoka won’t be the one to tear them apart. not when grogu is so fragile, when the dark side could seem so tempting. he needs din. ❝ i hope there’s room for three on that ship of yours. ❞

“ well , well , well . ” a smirk appeared on her face , arms crossing over her chest as she looked the man up and down . “ you know , you’ve got quite the reputation even among us NON - bounty hunters . now , you can rest assured ; i have no intention of turning you in , but i’ve gotta say , i am CURIOUS about what happened to make the entire guild turn against you . ”

DARKNESS WELLED IN EVERY CORNER OF THE GALAXY, pooling and spreading vile tendrils into the hearts of weak and strong alike, luring them with promises of security, of peace, prosperity, a siren’s song of the downtrodden and those who’s pockets were heavy with credits.
Long had he waited for the pendulum to swing, to come crashing through the Republic that had stood on the ashes of what was true and right for this wretched galaxy, Destroyers casting their oblique shadows over citadels and slums alike as the dark lord drew breath once more.
There was but one thing standing in his way now, and the Jedi would not claim this one; no mercy, no quarter.
Darkness surged through his blackened veins, hurling the mandalorian against, and through, a mighty elm, bark shattering to splinters, bursting into a cloud of needles and raining down leaves from on high, the crown of the ancient tree creaking and bracing against its brethren as gravity pulled it to the earth. Hardy boughs that bore thick branches snagged and tore at everything in their path, bringing down an avalanche of green in a chorus of sharp snaps and heavy cracks, until the broadleaf finally met the ground with a tremendous, earth-shattering thud, shaking the ground and everything that dwelled within it.
Darth Vader merely stood, hazed in a flutter of leaves and dust as the elm lay broken beside him. If Din Djarin wasn’t dead from the impact, he would soon meet his gruesome end clawing at his throat.
