SECURITY IS TAKING AWAY THE MANIA TOUR PROJECT CUTOUTS
hi! i went to the st paul show last night and was helping out with the mania tour project by making 500 cutouts and passing them out! i managed to pass out quite a few of them, probably at least over 100 of them, before i was approached by one of the venue's security guards and was forced to either be escorted to my car to get the remaining cutouts out of the venue, or have them taken away from me. the security guard was respectful about it and was only following whatever ridiculous orders she was given, so i handed over my remaining cutouts. she told me that fall out boy's secirity had instructed them to do this, which doesn't make any sense to me, because of this post on fall out boy's instagram:
so, here's how NOT to get your cutouts taken away:
don't carry the cutouts in clear bags, carry them in your coat or purse, and put them in a place where they won't get found if your bag gets searched when you walk through the door
don't be loud or obvious when passing them out
don't bother passing them out near security guards
but also:
if a security guard asks for your cutouts, don't put up a fight. just hand them over.
they're only doing their job, and we don't want to go against whatever system they have for their venue. don't be disrespectful, even if the security is rude or demanding.
this project is an act of love and support; we want to keep it that way.
this is all the information i have from personal experience! if @maniatourproject or anybody else who has participated has anything to add on, feel free to!
Just finished all my globes for the @maniatourproject Now, onto the pyramids
The FOB M A N I A Tour Project
As a surprise to the boys, and to show how much we appreciate them, let’s make sure the M A N I A tour is lit up purple!
This is a project that EVERYONE can get involved in. All you have to do is bring a paper shape (templates to follow) to the Garden when you come to the concert. If you can bring some extras to pass out, that’s even better!
Are you a whiz with scissors? Got great people skills? Just plain excited and want to volunteer with the project? Head on over here and submit your info!
Every city will have the same purple logos and crystal balls for you to hold up to your phone’s flashlight during Young and Menace to let the band know this is a fandom-wide effort. Some people have mentioned purple sharpie over tape, and that’s fine too. Whatever you want to do to get that arena purple! You can check out all the amazing details by heading over to @maniatourproject.
So ... FOB gave us a shoutout on Instagram and they follow both our Twitter and Instagram accounts!!!! They for sure know about it now guys!!! 😱💜
A few photos from the Project tonight in St. Louis. I am completely blown away and I am kind of getting emotional. This is more than we ever dreamed. Thank you so much to all our volunteers... we couldn’t do it without you!!! 💜💜
A note from us, to @falloutboy and all of you 💜💜💜
I️ think it’s safe to say that the Tampa chapter of the MANIA Tour Project was a success!!! If you want to see an amazing video, go check out DCD2’s Instagram story because they captured it so well! 💜
