Buildings are just buildings but it’s the stories of the people who inhabit them that make them come alive. Open as part of the @australianheritagefestival, @nationaltrustvic with some brilliant research/detective work from Vicki Shuttleworth have curated a rather fascinating exhibition recounting the lives of some of the women, from all walks of life, who made the Victorian mansion Labassa their home. Each room captures not only personal stories through the display of costumes, objects and scotch finger biscuits, but the waves of societal change that Melbourne has experienced over the last 150 years.
