It’s exactly three months until Torchwood’s tenth anniversary today and, as well as having gotten up to Out of Time, an absolutely brilliant episode, in my marathon watch, I’ve finally started work on the short stories I’m doing for the anniversary. Hope to keep making progress!

Marathon season 1
I watched it last Sunday and I’m going to share some thing’s I noticed and heard....
The walker’s were more ‘lively’, or more aware if you will. The little girl in the beginning, she ‘picked’ up a teddy bear laying on the road. Morgan’s wife... she was ‘looking’ through the peak-hole on the door, and tried to open the door by turning the handle. In Atlanta, the two times they were there, they ran after them....one even climbed the fence after Rick and Glenn. And right before this part, one that looked at Glenn when they were trying to reach the truck-van, then it walked by and turned slightly to look back at him.
It had taken Amy a long time to turn, it was dark out, late and then early morning. Jim had told Jacqui he had been scratched during the walkers attack, but he had been bitten on his side/stomach. And it was hours later when they left him leaning against a tree on the side of the road...at his request...while they were going to Atlanta, to go to the CDC...looking for answers and/or help.
Was it because it was early into it, the virus, do you think? We discussed this in GE and several said that probably because of the show-runner, and that makes sense..somewhat. But that really doesn’t work for the call-backs to this season for things people have said in the later seasons......
Rick tells Merle on the roof...”We survive this by pulling together, not apart.” Then Shane tells the group, ‘the most important thing is that they stay together’’...not going to lie, but this one bothered me....because Shane, and how he changes so much in s2, and what happens in the end...it bothers me. Variations of this sentence is often heard throughout the seasons.
T-Dog was the first to say...”That’s on us.”...and we’ve heard this so many times,....when we do, “that’s on me”...or “that’s not on you”....variations again.
Rick says to Daryl, “We don’t kill the living.”...this is said by several family member’s....and they don’t,...most of the time.
Jenner to Rick, “There’s no hope.”...Rick back to Jenner, “There’ always hope”. and Jenner to Rick, “It doesn’t matter”...Rick back to him, “It does matter.”...this also shows how Rick still had his humanity...and that’s understandable really, compared to the now and what they have been through. We know, this is one of those comments that Beth is known for, but this parallels what Rick told a broken man early on, and Beth tells another broken man in season 4...
Flash backs...Shane’s, about the hospital and Rick. He tells Lori at the CDC, that he put his ear down on Rick’s chest and didn’t feel or hear a heartbeat. Flash backs are a part of the story telling on TWD we all know this....but this has more of a significance to TD’ers...a parallel Beth/Rick....and why they didn’t know she was alive.....it’s a possibility (probability).
Jim ‘dreamed’ he had to dig holes..big holes...he dug at least 4 maybe 5 before they stopped him and tied him to a tree. The morning after the camp had been attacked, he looked at them and said he remembered why he had to dig now.
And while Jim was getting worse, you could see he was sweating and had a fever, they showed us flashes of walkers that appeared to Jim..hallucinations. Rick had told him he had been delirious a lot of the time...
Rick was telling the group that the night he came back from Atlanta,....”I thought I was trapped in some coma or a dream...I didn’t think I’d wake up from.” explaining what it felt like seeing this new world....this peaked my interest....Remember Bob telling Rick this past season, “This is a nightmare and nightmares end”....
Which is something else TPTB and the writer’s love....making people hallucinate. S1 Rick in the hospital, was he hallucinating when he was talking out loud and no one was there?, and Jim....S2 Daryl, he saw Merle, hallucinating that his brother was there...S3 Rick, he saw Lori and talked to several other’s on the phone....S4, really didn’t have one, well unless Tyreese’s dreaming of Karen counts, we seen how disturbed his sleep was....and he told C@rol that he dreamed of her....but no visual ones.
And S5...WHaWGO, almost the whole episode was Ty’s hallucination...seeing Martin..Lizzy and Mika...the Governor and of course, Beth....and Sasha ‘flashes’/hallucinations of Tyreese, Bob, and Beth. Both of these for Ty and Sasha, are people that they have feelings of remorse over....anger....sadness....and the biggest one, guilt.
And my favorite sayings I saved....Glenn...”We don’t burn them....we bury them”, and Lori had said to Daryl, “We take time to bury our dead”...referring to those they knew.... and they did...throughout the series so far. Unless something happened that prevented it, and every time they didn’t was because of a herd, or just too many walker’s...
But when they were able to.....they put up a ‘rock’ memorial at the farm for Otis and buried family from the barn. They buried people at the prison, and a cross was placed to mark it. They did this even if the body wasn’t there..Rick even brought back Andrea’s body from Woodbury, so she could be with them.....and it’s being continued at the ASZ the same way.
The argument that different show runner’s for the first three (s1, then s2-s3 same) seasons just doesn’t seem relevant to me now. If they can do these things....how do we know that some other things that happened in those seasons don’t have meaning to now?....Just something for all of us to think about.

Time Spent with Kerry Washington: Marathon Viewing Scandal
Over the last four days, I've spent a lot of time watching TV. Well, Netflix, but you know that's basically the same thing. What have I been watching? A show recommended to me by one of my best friends, Scandal.
I started hesitantly. A show about a woman who is having an affair with the President of the United States. A show created by the mind behind Grey's Anatomy. Who cares?
Apparently, I do.

I have spent the last four days binge watching this show, moving from episode to episode with the fervor of a shark that has smelled fresh blood. I couldn't get enough. Today, before I went to work, I watched three episodes, finishing up the second season. The problem with that is I've hit a wall. There are only two seasons available online.
I'll admit, it's left me a bit helpless. Part of the greatness of Netflix is being able to watch the show on my TV. I could easily find the next episode somewhere online, but I don't necessarily want to watch it on my computer.
I'll probably end up breaking down and doing that, though. I'm too invested to give up, and I keep accidentally reading things that give away plot points. Once I get to the newest episode, I'll be home free.
