Driving North, 8:40 PM, 2023 This is a painting based on one somewhat recent snowy night on the road, at 8:40pm to be exact, but nearly identical to many other beautiful, hypnotic, and slightly scary drives. In the dark and the snow, it feels as if nothing else exists outside the cast of the car headlights, like you're not driving up 95 or 611 but along some galactic roadway, and like maybe you won’t make it—you probably know the feeling.  –Claudia Keep
