So, there was going to be an official meeting and Maddy was invited and Maddy was sick to her stomach because of this official meeting that she was invited to.

She knew of course that she didn’t have to participate or perform, that, in fact, no one was probably going to even pay attention to her. And even if she did say something and it was embarrassing and stupid, they’d probably forgive her for being so young and so new. Except that. Maddy wouldn’t be Maddy if she didn’t come with a three-page long bullet point list of things she’d like to suggest, a little speech towards how brilliant Maurice Creevey was, as well as a full-fledged plan concerning the future of Muggleborns within the Order. After all, she hadn’t been assigned Head of House for nothing.

And because there was just so much stakes and so much to do, she was anxious. Worried she might fuck it up and would never be taken serious again. 

Her spiralling thoughts and the ever-same parts of her speech passing her lips in a mumble were suddenly interrupted though, when she reached the room they were going to meet in and saw that despite being almost thirty minutes early, she wasn’t at all the first. And the astonishment only grew when she saw who that other person was, and why she wasn’t surprised at all that they were even earlier than her. 

In a little bounce, she snuck up to Hestia Jones -- her old school friend and partner in crime for various years --  from behind, then covered her eyes.
