Mardis Gras, 2026.
I'm following the stuff about "boudin king cake" and I wonder what do you put on it? It's frangipane? Or brioche ?
In France it's called "La galette des rois" And It's usually frangipane.
well the boudin king cake is just a monstrosity that people think they got clever with (boudin is already a well loved food down here, but it's a MEATY food it doesn't need bread.) this is boudin (you can cook it different ways):
a king cake i think is pretty similar to la galette des rois and rosca de reyes, and that's because Louisiana has a lot of influence from Spain and France. my family are cajun, so they spoke cajun french and often our foods intersect. a king cake is more like a cinnamon roll that everyone can share. sometimes it has strawberry or custard filling as that was what people had back then, but we can branch out into other fruits. it has frosting on top and usually has purple, gold, and green sprinkles. it's meant to be a filling food

There was no way I was gonna have a whole ass Cajun OC and NOT use him to expose the LMK cast to Mardi Gras.
Hopefully now I can make those doodles I’ve been wanting to do of how the different characters eat King Cake. (Wukong would swallow it whole, taking the baby with him without realizing it, change my mind)
