FUA 04: Report from the North, the fourth yearbook of the Faculty of Art & Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec. “The starting point of our editorial consideration being the timeless phenomenon of locality, i.e. the faculty’s geographical location, which defines its very existence to a remarkable extent. The character of Liberec arises from its marginal position in the north of Bohemia and is linked to a specific affinity towards autonomy and independence. This interesting mix leads to the assumption that the Liberec faculty could be the home of independent thought. However, there is also the constant threat of the school becoming a peripheral autistic being lacking external connections and reflections. The aim of this publication is to momentarily weaken this northern autonomy and thus introduce the margins to the whole. Printed throughout in Pantone Grey 5 and tones of black to capture the dreamy atmosphere of the gallery space. Catalogues are made of folded sheets of paper which are glued together to transform the idea of exhibited architectural sections into the form of a book.
