Don't let the bastards grind you down.
Margaret Atwood - The Handmaid’s Tale
Margar
36 years ago, my mom left this earth. I will never not think of her, still, every day, even after all this time.
She died just after Childe's 1st birthday. She always said she would treasure that. "Your brother's kids are wonderful and I love them but your daughter's babies are just different."
Wish you could hang out with her now, she's pretty fuckin cool.
I miss you.

*Re-reading The Handmaid’s Tale.* “Yeah, Serena Joy is an incredibly important female character.”
She spent her life talking out loud about how women had to be submissive to men. How women had to stay in the home. How they had to keep quiet.
Then the crazy dominant military patriarchy took over. Suddenly women actually were nothing.
And Serena Joy couldn’t talk out loud any more. She coudn’t do anything.
And she was absolutely fucking miserable.
There’s a lesson there.
