MY FIT AND HAPPY SELF
Another week has gone by and I just want to share what I did during the weekend. Well, since my love for health and fitness have resurfaced this year, I continued to work out without the usual starving process. I don’t normally follow certain patterns of this and that but what I do is I go with what I prefer for the day; be it the alternating sets of crunches, sit-ups, and planking or replacing the sit-ups with leg raises.
Good part is, I can actually work out at home just by having a quick tutorial via YouTube. By that, I have a virtual teacher without having to pay for those lessons. What I mean is: Discipline is the key. But what it really meant was: I can save a lot! The Ilocano blood runs in me anyway.
Bad thing is, I’m about to register for a run-for-a-cause event (still haven’t decided which one to attend to: "Dalagan sa Kaadlawan" in Iloilo City or "Electro Fun Run" in Roxas City) and I don’t have a running buddy yet. Haha. Like it’s the biggest problem of all. :)
And so, going back to my weekend story, I went to Maridel’s Cakes and Pastries (located at Plazuela de Iloilo) to eat another delightful surprise! Like me, you might have a hard time choosing from a wide variety of sweets when you get inside. Been there for more than five times already and I prefer a different flavor each time and what I can say is that I'm very impressed by their signature flavors.
Toblerone Cloud
Irish Coffee Torte
Mind you, I did not eat both cakes, only the latter. Look at that presentation. Who could ever resist? Yeah, I know even a slice contains lots of calories, but I burned it afterwards! Chocolate and coffee addicts like me would definitely enjoy the playful flavors given on every bite you take. This pastry shop has an awesome crew who welcomes you with a smile and the products the sell are easy on the budget.
Anyway, it’s not every day that I let my pleasures distract me. It was a cheat day for Christ’s sake! Haha.
And since the weekend is over and the race is on this week, I have to be in shape and add more greens on my plate. I'm not really a vegetarian kind of person but it would benefit me in terms of my health and physicality. I’m just proud to say that nowadays, when I am at the supermarket and accidentally walk into the candy bars section, I plainly see them as a beautiful background. No touching- at least until cheat day! :)
Pardon my late post fellas!
