Researching Yuri Manga Scholarship is taking its toll

Started reading and watching marimite and I feel like in the categorization of it as Class S rather than yuri, it has gotten classified as "not gay" more than it deserved to.

It's pretty gay. Everywhere I see ppl talking about it, they're really hammering in how like, it's not about girls kissing or dating, it's about "strong, passionate, borderline romantic friendships" but like. It is gay. These catholic schoolgirls kiss. They confess love in a way that is blatant and difficult to misconstrue. They're not tribbing on screen but, like, the romantic elements aren't even subtext, they are text.

Also the books are even gayer. I'm only halfway through the first one but Yumi talks about Sachikos breasts more than is necessary.
