I swear Mario Kart is the only series I know that punishes  you for having skill. or just loves screwing you over when you get a little bit lucky. It’s even WORSE in 200cc! It’s like:

“Oh, you’re in first place in the last lap? too bad! let’s hit you with a few red shells and have you get rammed by someone with a star.”

“Nice drift on that sharp turn, here, slip on a banana peel and fall off the course for your trouble.”

“Good job making that hard to reach short cut! Now wer’e gonna pelt you with green shells, boomerangs and you’re gonna get eaten by a piranha plant in the air”

“ A super horn in first place? Fuck that shit! LIGHTNING!”

“You won ranbow road without falling off once? Great, now we’re gonna give you your most hated course to get last place in!”

“I see you mastered your brake-driting and firehopping techniques. we’re gonna have bananas plastered all over the track just for you!
