Mario's Bubble Ability and the Power Of The Stars

So in a previous post I had brought up the fact that Mario's bubble ability seems to be an ability he has had consistently since Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Now this ability is actually fueled by The Power Of The Stars. This is revealed on page 9 of the Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island manual. "If you get hit by an enemy and take damage, Baby Mario will fall off of Yoshi's back. When this happens, the power of the stars will protect Baby Mario for a short while."........ This means the little Stars jumping around in these games are connected to the Power Stars in some way.

Overall Mario's bubble ability protects and prevents him from loosing an extra life, but only really works if he has an ally to pop the bubble for him.

Given this ability is connected to the Power Of The Stars which comes from Power Stars, it may explain why in Super Mario Bros. Wonder the Mario and friends become ghosts instead of bubbling. The Flower Kingdom doesn't seem to have Power Star present unlike on Yoshi's Island, in the Mushroom Kingdom, or in the Sprixie Kingdom.

Mario's Bubble Ability

An ability Mario has had since he was a Baby is the ability to save himself from pits and stuff by forming a bubble around himself. A detail that we see a lot in games but people overlook it, and this has been a thing since Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
